Cat on Drypoint
Performance / Intervention
This piece is all about the registration. My feline partner showing off her trademark four-paw-registration technique, with great success.
Time for a tangent. Ya’ll remember Matthias ‘Mo’ Valdez from this post? Cool, humble dude and screen printer - his daughter Sophie Bijou is currently showing Leukemia how tough and positive a 3yo can be.
There’s a lot of cool things happening, both in Pueblo and the net in support for Sophie, like The Haunted Windchimes playing a pre-xmas “Concert for Sophie" on Dec 20th, and a variety of other events, a great many of them printmaking related:
Like other screen printshops jumping in and taking over Mo’s deadlining print work, so that he can drive his daughter to her hospital visits.
Or the Printmaking class of Manitou Springs High School making a print sale in support of Sophie.
Or poster charity auctions.
Just in case you need, like, a reminder that sometimes humans also do pretty cool stuff, despite what it might look like at times, when it’s 5am and the news full of stuff beyond human reasoning. And if you can’t go to a concert in Pueblo and you’re really not into screen printed posters, you can still donate.
Here’s The Haunted Windchimes playing “Make it rain”:
